The Wabanaki Health Research Unit is an interdisciplinary research group led by Dr. Debbie Martin and is based out of Dalhousie University in K’jipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki (Halifax, Nova Scotia). The name Wabanaki is a Mi’kmaq word that describes where the sun rises first, or the dawn land, referring geographically to the east, and was chosen in deference to our location on traditional and unceded Mi’kmaq territory.
